-
Client / Company: Massachusetts Department of Public Health, through Human Services Management Corporation (HSMC)
-
Audience: Early Intervention professionals working with infants, toddlers, and caregivers
-
Outcome: Learners apply PIWI dyadic and triadic strategies during Early Intervention visits to encourage positive caregiver-child interaction.
-
Business / Learning Need: An existing quiz tested PIWI concepts but gave learners limited opportunity to practice applying them in realistic household situations.
-
My Role: Instructional design, scenario development, SME collaboration, Storyline development, visual design, and feedback design
-
Solution / Design: Worked with subject matter experts to expand the original quiz into a continuous branching scenario with recurring characters, realistic household situations, and decision-based practice. Learner choices triggered conversational and visual reactions, and reference content on PIWI strategies was available for review as needed.
-
Results: Shifted the experience from primarily testing recall to giving learners practice selecting and applying PIWI strategies in realistic caregiver-child interactions.
-
Technology: Articulate Storyline
-
Year: 2020–2021
-
Current Status: PIWI remains part of Massachusetts Early Intervention professional development. Current use of this specific Storyline interaction was verified in 2023.
